Ford Territory 2011 4x4

New Shape, new Engine new to Australia....

Ford Territory Australia New Look

Sales have been slowing and the public well, just looking for the evolution to happen.

Now it has, Ford Territory introduces into Australia the new look new style , long awaited new engine into a great Australian 4x4.

Ford Territory V6 Twin turbo Diesel

The 2.7 V6 Twin Turbo diesel gets a run in this model. Acclaimed in Europe this land rover , Citroen  engine (Used in Jaguar too)  has all the hallmarks of a economical yet powerful engine to lead Ford into the next decade of mid size family 4x4 sales. Expect about 150 KW and 440 Nmm.  This is sounding like a sales pitch

Ford territory has  for years now been a silent sales achiever. You could follow the sales process of this vehicle by the price of fuel and at one stage in 2006' ish Ford dealers had a abundance of stock of this vehicle. However buyers  did realise that for Australian conditions and family motoring sanity this vehicle for the money could produce a all round almost go anywhere commuter with the option of the weekend tow vehicle.

Visibility is good, space is good, safety, interior appointments and models  will continue in  2012 just as it has done. Ford will offer a entry level 4x2 just as it has now and other models  including a luxury.
Mum can take the kids to school and not feel too left out around the Audi's and BMW wagons.

Ford Australia  should be proud of this model and we can only hope this one doesn't go stale just like the last but for now the new look offers a new excitement  into the mid size 4x4  family sector.

Emissions Cut up to 25%

The Ford Territory according to  Neil McDonald spokesperson of Ford Australia  states the Territory is the only  SUV 4x4 in Australia made and designed  in Australia. This lends to why when we seek information it is limited  as Ford USA do not have a matching vehicle in their stable. For the greener  reader emissions could be cut by almost 25%.

Australia fleet sales have dramatically changed and this vehicle could find a new market here . Fleet sales in Australia have show a warm reception to diesel and the value holding SUV style vehicle in recent years.

85% new range at Ford

In Australia this vehicle is expected to pick up the slack from the  now near extinct Falcon its this market now where ford are putting their market for the future.
2012 will see a big change in Ford  4x4 vehicle in the range.

Diesel ...Diesel...Deisel

Ford Territory  now in a 2.7 in line Turbo 6 CYL Diesel, This added to the economical 4 ltr petrol gives buyers a choice. One of the deciding factors here in favour of the Diesel 2.7 is the added 400kg to the towing capacity now rated at 2700 kg.
This engine has had some super mods done and  it much smoother and quieter than anything ford has produced previously.

Diesel Torque 440 NM
Power in this engine is 40kw down on the petrol at 140KW Torque is up 50NM to 440 in the Diesel. The Ford Territory SZ  Turbo diesel is rated at 8.8 l/100 km in the AWD slightly less in the other. All models are with the six speed Automatic Transmission
