Chrysler Jeep Grand short History, very short1996 and Chrysler underwent a big gamble in the Australian market. The Grand Cherokee. Sales of the XJ was good and in the short time in Australia had show remarkable improvements in the four years of release. Enter the Grand. Available in a 6 cyl only it offered more space and you didn't hit your head getting into it. It was a true American machine with all the little issues to go with it. Now 2011 and the Grand Cherokee with quality and refinements that its new owners Fiat have designed . Pricing of the Grand worldwide has stabilised remembering they are built in Europe. Fuel efficiency something the previous models didn't have is now a role player with the all new V6 Pentastar engine.. Economy and safety for jeep grand 2011Figures here should be in the vicinity of 10.2 L/100km giving out a respectful 216 KW. Cabin interior is bigger up to 17% on the previous Grand Cherokee. Safety is improved but in comparison to other makes in its class is really just keeping up, Features all new 6 airbags, active head restraints, ESP and anti skid brakes. ....mmmm.. Wasn't that standard on 2001 Mercedes M class. ? Off road is interesting and I can assure most that first hand I have always been impressed with all Jeep models off road although bits do fall of when you least expect. Sales are expected to be steady , they wont set the world on fire and I gather parts and servicing costs will be about the same level. Caution too for the lease purchaser as values traditionally decline heavily in a short space of time on this product. |
